  • Housey Update

They are not accepting offers on the property before the auction. Bollocks.

I am preparing myself for being pissed off, on the other hand if they had accepted my offer now then the chances of me getting any work done in the next few weeks would have been tiny. On the minus side the reason they aren’t accepting offers is that they’ve had offers and the owners have just gone ‘nah, wait for the auction’. They’ve had offers. Offers plural. Bugger.

  • oh holy crap oh holy crap oh holy crap…

…I’m thinking about buying a house. I am thinking… of spending… more money that I’ve ever spent before… on a house… with no roof, with damp, with no heating, no worthwhile electrics, no kitchen… barely any ceilings…

    *pause*

No I am fucking terrified. Scared witless. Holy crap, holy crap, oh holy crap, oh holy crap.

    Seriously scary.

Okay. Ring. Ask if they’ll accept an offer now.

  • Sharing a moment

Okay. So here’s three separate learning outcomes:

    • Recognise situations in which agreed plans of nursing care are no longer appropriate and refer these to an appropriate accountable practitioner.
    • Contribute to the evaluation of the appropriateness of nursing care delivered.
    • Review and monitor the progress of planned care interventions.

Now, correct me if I’m wrong; but these could easily be written into one learning outcome on which I could write one thing. I’m sorely tempted to put the same thing down for all three, because I could. Fracking stupid game this. Either they trust their assessors or they don’t. It’s insane that I have to provide evidence, or at least some kind of commentry on their assessment of my abilities. *sighs*

  • Raaar Birthyday!

    So. Yes. The weekend.

It’s been a while since my birthday’s fallen on Easter Bank Holiday weekend; and I’d forgotten the potential of having (essentially) four days of Birthday. Although, I actually worked friday and some of saturday; but from the arrival of the James creature, thoughts of university were put aside.

[a rambly “I did this” post follows] (more…)

  • Thinking about the future…

Take it hip to hip, rocket through the wilderness-e-e-e-esss
Around the world the trip begins with a ki-i-i-i-isss
Roam if you want to, roam around the world!
Roam if you want to, without wings, without wheels
Roam if you want to, roam around the world
Roam if you want to, without anything but the love we feel

So, I’ve a bit of a reputation for being able to find music; that and knowing every song ever – according to Trey (blatantly untrue; I do know quite a lot of recent stuff though, and if you put on a song that’s charted in Britain since about 1960something I’ll quite possibly know some of the lyrics, I will have to actually *hear* it though).

Anyway; as a result of this I will find music. If people are on the hunt for music I can find it, if I so choose to set myself the task, about 90% of the time. Possibly more. I’m not proud of this; just persistant. Anyway, Kaisa wanted Maria Mena’s “Apparently Unaffected” album which she couldn’t get hold of over in AK (at least, not easily) – and I found it. Being me, I nabbed a copy for myself too (I can’t help it, I love music) – and you know what, it’s excellent. I feel like I’ve been let in on some huge secret; I’d no idea this woman even existed and suddenly I’ve got this fantastic CD.

She’s got a really damn good voice. So. Yes. I hope that the CD I sent via TreyMail to Alaska makes it to Kaisa okay – after the debacle of Trey’s flights… I hope that her stuff is okay too, obviously! That’s more important than a dinky CD which I can send a copy of at worst; but still I hope it’s made it, because she’s been trying to get it for a while; and I really like it… and it’d be someone to talk to about it!

Other excitement today – I managed to hack the grass back down to such a level as to make it possible to use the Lawn Mower next time. It wasn’t actually *too* bad; but definately too long to attack with the Flymo – only – the flymo is devoid of blades, so I need to go get some of them too. Cleaned the kitchen floor (at last); the back room floor (mostly); the bathroom; went swimming (god it felt good to be back in the water); Trawled B&Q (they’re suprisingly expensive compared to… other places); knocked up a very quick dinner; chilled out for a bit with Nikki and Cake… I mean Kate…and Cake; and yeah. It’s generally been a really nice day. And suddenly I am overcome with tiredness, so I think I’ll take my little old self to bed….

Two EU packs down, one down to 4 questions (I need to go borrow videos which I think I’ll do after Easter). This is an *enormous* improvement. Two of the packs are finished to the point that I just need to walk down and hand them in. They’re printed and all. Sadly – huge waste of paper – I printed the Mental health one on the wrong printer in a moment of distracted distraction. So that is a shame, ‘cos I then had to reprint it in colour.

I’ve just shaven my legs so as I can go swimming (with Ms B in a bit);  I’ve discovered that Podge and Rodge have their own talk show (as well as a DVD) – which is bizzare and entertaining. I’m pondering quickly cleaning the shower before Nikki gets here. There may well be less of me around this weekend; as I’ve got friends coming for the weekend!

Actual Friends. Visiting. From afar. Look, look, I have a social life! Look! No, seriously. ;-)

  • Oh look, it’s my life…

    This link is… my life.

I awoke this morning and found that my PC had reset during the night. I configured this machine for ‘automatic updates’ such that it’d download them and tell me about them, but one of the updates appears to have made it decide that it wants to download and install the bloody things. grrr. It’s also turned on the Windows Firewall – again. I’m beginning to want to beat that with sticks. We’ve got a proper firewall here, we don’t need no steenking firewall.

    *sigh*

I guess it’s time to set too and finish my work. I am wholeheartedly sick of it though. Yes. Never mind.

  • A swimming pool you say? How delightful

Lord am I tired… It was the burial of my dad’s urn / casket today; and the service at Amaravati. ‘cos my mum was stressing I drove over to hers last night – enabling us to set off at 6:30 this morning. Unfortunately it also meant I slept terribly; I think I got about 3 hours. Then we got in my mum’s car and I drove us to Amartavati in Hemel; It was only about an hour and a half, and the traffic was pretty good really. The service was really nice; the dahna offering went well too; the little nephews behaved themselves really well :-)

I got to try more Thai and assorted other asian foods – and apart from accidentally eating a chilli (and the accompanying period of me *looking* like I’d just eaten a chilli) and the experience as a whole was a good one. Driving back though, what with drinking only decaf, and the minute amount of sleep, I really really struggled. Anyway, got my mum back, fixed her waterfall, drank coffee, picked up my birthyday presents,m hopped in the car, drove back here and found… the subject of the title.

The damp survey is back on the house; it’s got *no* damp proof course at all. It is all but a swimming pool (Moisture content as high as 28%) and 2 walls in two rooms need to be replastered floor to ceiling ; but the quote for this is actually what I was expecting as the quote for *just* damp proofing to be, but actually they’ll do floor to ceiling plastering and 1 m high in the other rooms. So it’s really all *rar*.

It’s not really any worse than I expected; and actually better in some ways… so we await wednesday with baited breath.

  • Shoopy shoopy dancy dancy

It’s my birthyday in 4 days (the 16th). This rocks. We’re going to my favourite restaurant in all of Bristolia to celebrate and I’ve booked a table. Lots of people seem to have forgotten this year, so I’ll just remind everyone; it’s my birthyday on Sunday. I’m to be 28 Earth Years old. So Ra. Ra for me.

    Ra.
