  • Oh the hilarity

    I know you’re all bored of my laptop woes, but hey. After months of gradually decreasing battery SOC, and weeks of sitting with a maximum charge of 18-20ish percent (with sudden-death mode at anywhere around 15% – allowing a ‘run between wall sockets’ battery life), my laptop suddenly charged to 98%.

    Woot, I thought.

    After a few days of trying it off mains power for a few minutes at a time, things seemed stable. So I used it on battery yesterday, and it got down to 26% and… switched off. No warning, no errors recorded, just *off*.

    Charged it up over night – back up to 95% this morning…used it on battery. Everything seemed fine, then at 55%: off.

    So that’s fun. I now have a semi-working battery where I get the excitement of not knowing if my laptop is suddenly, and unexpectedly, going to switch itself off.

  • Some things are just hard to come by

    So, in the UK, this:

    Bayonet lightbulb base

    is a lightbulb’s connector for a standard, basic, normal lightbulb.

    Now I knew this beforehand, and I knew that I’d probably have to look a bit harder to find the bulbs I want. However, what is frustrating is that the LED B22D bulbs I can find on Alibaba and Goodluckbuy, and so on, list themselves as being 85V or higher. But I’m a bit wary of ordering multiple bulbs without knowing if they’re any good.

    But when I look on Amazon or ebay, they’re all listed as 240volt.

    Feh.

    I’m sure I’ll find what I want eventually… Not that I can afford to buy them until I’ve been paid anyhow.

    it genuinely took me a minute to realize this meant “walk sexy so they stare at your ass” and not “walk quickly and/or run because you’re in danger.” men are so fucking stupid and have zero conception of what being a woman in public is actually like lol

    Every single woman who reads this immediately thinks, “Walk faster. Change directions. Surround yourself with people. Call your mom/sister/friend, tell her where you are, that you love her. Squeeze the keys between fingers tighter.” 

    That quote is either a warning or a threat.
