  • A pig has shat in my head.

So, I feel crap. I felt crap when I went to bed last night (with a lousy headache), and this morning I woke up to discover that I’d failed to set the alarm clock to alarm (I’d set the time but not switched the alarm on). And now I feel like a pig has shat in my head. I’m fuzzy and headachey and gneereally feeling crap. Not really really headachey, definately a headache though, more that I just feel tired and grotty.

    Which is annoying.

However, I’ve been working a fair bit. Stuggled yesterday; was reading about cancer etc, and ‘dying trajectories’, and it was making me struggle a bit, but the lecture was okay in the end. Didn’t get much extra work done, but still, not so bad…..

Am edging closer to ending up with a SII minor, which is bad. Although I can think of people who might want it once it’s made roadworthy. I dunno, we’ll see…

Mostly I’m just feeling a bit tired and grotty… and starting work on selling off / disposing of crap. The Underwood No. 5 is the first to be auctioned, sadly.

    Yes.

  • Engine steady!

So, Another day, another new video uploaded, or it will be by the morning…. being uploaded right this instant.

    Yeah, so, it’s like….

…..not as good as the first one, I really didn’t have the hang of the new software when I did it. But, it’s there. It’s fitting an engine steady.

The pride video is coming on nicely now, with evil afoot; some bugs in the software appeared to give me a lot of grief tonight, I’d be in bed now, but it took a while to work out why the damn thing wasn’t rendering…. So, yeah. You can all wait on that.

    Anyway, go look!

  • Love thy neighbour

Unless of course he’s a complete wanker.

So I’m working on my car, not even daring to have the engine running (which is a sin in his book, but I didn’t need it running for this :-), and what does he do? Turn his little shittyped round until the exhaust is pointing directly at me (well, the car’s in the way, but the exhaust is pointing down…) – i.e. sideways on his drive; start it and run it.

Why? God knows. He’s just a shit, as far as I’m concerned.

Then, while I was doing the video bits of “how to change the engine stay” he sat and rev’d his motorbike…

….again, possibly explicable, except that he was washing it. Why this required it to be rev’d I’m not entirely sure.

Anyway, engine stay is changed, I hope it’s a bit better now, and the judder’ll be removed…. and when I get the software I’ll edit that video (all 25 minutes of it) into something sane / insane :-)

  • Moggie Magic!

Well, after a bit of a misjudged afternoon (took kick plates off, discovered very distressing things, put kick plates back on – but did this all too late….making me late for doing stuff with my housemate, which made me late for..) the Morris Minor Meeting was cool, bizzarely they seemed never to have encountered a woman who does, uh, all her own maintainance…. and um…. seem to want me to give a talk on it. Ah well. We’ll see.

  • Night of a thousand fish

    So,

Tonight, all things being equal I shall finally make it to meet the local Morris Minor Owners Club. Technically I have no right to go out considering the appauling lack of work I’ve put in today. I’ve managed maybe 2 hours work through the day, I just don’t seem to really be able to get started.

  • Sore!

It’s taken a long, long time; but finally the instrument panel is file’d, filled and just needs sanding. By which I mean, all the holes are the correct sizes for their instruments; all the surfaces are fairly flat….except one.

Having ‘designed’ it and measured it incredibly carefully (by my standards) – the instruments all fit (just, the clock/voltmeter/revcounter are *really* close, touching, actually – they were intended to be about 1mm apart. Heh, my metal working isn’t that good!) – but one thing which didn’t occur until I had the instruments sat there was that the one which extends past the curve of the dash…. it needs a bulge in the dash behind it otherwise it doesn’t look too stunning.

Never mind, it would have had to be filler anyway, or braze if the braze had worked…. but it didn’t and so filler it is. A few more happy hours and it should be dry and hard and then final sanding prior to priming and spraying. It’s really quite exciting :-)

The only problem, my hand is now sore and awaiting a blister I suspect from going at the metal with a file for hours.
