On monday, I was riding to work and there was sloooow traffic, and the reason was that some truck had lost what had once been a sheet of pink expanded polystyrene (Like the big blocks of packing material made of little tiny tiny bubbles of polystyrene).
By the time I got there it had been hit and been through the vents of countless cars – so was mostly down to tiny granules, and was sort of bouncing and pseudo floating, slowly, in a almost gravity defying way. The tiny particles being so limited in their weight and trapped in the slipstreams of the passing cars were whipped all over the place, and the bigger bits bounced slowly and then were dragged back up into the air by the turbulence.
It was just awesome.
