1) Do you drive the speed limit?
I tend to drive ‘around’ the limit. Since I know my Speedo’s accurate at 30 I tend to be pretty close. Motorways I’m a little more vague on.
2) Have you ever gotten a speeding ticket?
*touch wood* not yet.
3) Whats the fastest you’ve ever driven?
Indicated 119mph.
4) Do you listen to music in your car?
Yup. Usually Radio 1 or a CD of my own devising.
5) Would you rather be the driver or the passenger?
Driver; always. Unless I’m very very tired.
6) What’s the longest distance you’ve ever driven in one day?
Around 600 miles, I think.
7) Where was the first place you drove when you got your license?
Erm, home from the test centre? I drove to school the next day to show off.
8) Did you have restrictions on where you could drive when you first got your license?
Nope.
9) What kind of car do you drive?
Morris Minor.
10) Did you pass your learner’s permit test the first time?
Learner’s Permit test? We don’t have that. I passed the theory test for the bike first time.
13) Are you nervous about driving over bridges/tunnels?
Nope
14) Do you have a lot of junk in your car?
Define ‘a lot’… I tend to aquire maps and directions. There’s my battered old CD player. Oil / Coolant / Odd spares / Warning Triangle / Tow rope / First aid kid / 1960’s map / spare bulbs / gloves.. that kind of stuff. I don’t tend to let rubbish accumulate.
14) Is your car clean?
Inside or outside? I don’t really clean it much either way but there tends, like I say not to be much rubbish in there.
15) Do you sing while driving?
Yes. And dance.
16) Ever driven around without going anywhere?
Yes, not as much as I used to, but then I can’t afford the petrol. And even in the time I’ve been driving traffic’s got way worse.
17) Ever followed somone while driving just to see where they were going?
Nope. I have used the Dirk Gently method of navigation to get out of London once though.
18) Do you use cruise control?
Don’t have it. I’ve used it on my mum’s car, and on a rental. It’s a bit weird, but it’s kinda nice to be able to move my accelerator foot.
19) Do you blast your music?
If it’s good and I’m in the mood. Most of the time no though.
20) Ever run a red light?
Not on purpose, I’ve missjudged an amber and gone through saying “It was amber“; and once after working too many nights I drove through a red on a pedestrian crossing – I didn’t even realise afterwards. I really was very tired.
21) Ever been chased by the cops?
No, although I think I was followed by them when I was a late-teen driving around Nottingham with [too many] people in my mum’s car.
22) Ever been in an accident?
Yes. I’ve had a few, really. One just after I passed my test – thought a van was parked, it wasn’t. Rolled my Yugo and slid down the centre lane of the M4 after the engine siezed on my bike. I guess also the motorcycle going off without me could count as an accident, as could my highside the second day I rode the bike. I learned a lot the hard way.
23) Ever have a flat tire?
Yes.
25) Does your car have a sunroof?
No.
26) Is your transmission automatic or stickshift?
Are you serious?! Automatic?! *Shudders*. It’s a manual. A beautiful manual.
27) Does your car get good gas mileage?
Pretty good – she does around 35-38 mpg. Less if I thrash her.
28) Ever run out of gas?
Yes. On the bike. My own fault, bloody ethics.
29) Places you usually drive your car?
Commute to and from work, around town, to my mum’s. Everywhere I can. I hate UK public transport.
30) Ever back your car into something/someone?
Erm, yes, once. Didn’t do any damage though.
31) Ever get a parking ticket?
Yes (in my defence they’d changed the parking regulations while I was away by adding a new sign under the old one… I only read the old one).
32) Ever driven without a license?
Oh look, it’s a stealth bomber.
33) Ever race your car?
Nope.
34) Have a good driver’s ed teacher?
Not sure what Driver’s Ed is. My driving instructor was pretty good.
35) Anyone ever throw up in your car?
Yes. Well, my mum’s car, but I was driving.
36) Ever lose your keys?
*touch wood* not as yet.
37) Ever have a dead battery?
Yeah, a few times. Left the lights on on the Golf – and it used to randomly flatten it’s battery for no explicable reason. The Mog battery used to get flat ‘cos the dynamo couldn’t keep up when driving in winter traffic.
38) Ever leave your lights on?
Not for a while.
39) Ever drive drunk?
No.
40) Ever come close to getting in an accident but didnt?
Yes, sometimes it’s my fault, sometimes it’s someone elses. It happens…
