Woo, I rock.

Well, actually, kinda John, kinda… really.

John repaired the laser head off the PS/2 and we put it back together; and lo “disk read error” was obtained. Some time later, as I lay upsidedown on the floor with the PS2 boards and oojit, y’know, um, boards that’s it. The boards and drive hanging over the edge of a pile of junk we (John and I) managed to get the laser power approximately correct (go us, go us, go us, go us).

However, having put it back together it appeared to do a good impression of having died. After he went though, while on the phone to Trey, I stripped down the poor wee bairn, and managed to locate the loose ribbon cable causing the problem. And reassembled… it worked. It plays DVDs, it plays music CDs and it plays *games*. Rez. I got to play Rez! Go me! I rock.

And in other amusing news: this is the stooopidist set of directions….. Microsoft…. you’ve done it again :-)

Kate's a human mostly built out of spite and overcoming transphobia-racism-and-other-bullshit. Although increasingly right-wing bigots would say otherwise. So she's either a human or a lizard in disguise sent to destroy all of humanity. Either way, it's all good.
