I’m pretty damn hard core! Fear me!

I promise I won’t make such a habit out of it as last time…this is just a quickie…got some stuff to put up later, maybe….depending on how nice I’m feeling.

So, here’s my real diary entry for the day. At least, here’s my first real diary entry of the day (not that I ever do loads of entries in one day, oh no

RIght, you’ll have to be nice, I may well get some strange typos in here, why? because on Friday I switched to a Norwegian layout keyboard – which allows me to type ø, æ & å with ease, but unfortunately means that lots of the symbols aren’t where I expect them to be. Most noticably the appostrophy and the angle brackets.

So, what did I do this weekend? Well, I was going to go home, but unfortunately found that I’d come into contact with a friend with a cold – and luckily I didn’t go home, ‘cos I was coughing though saturday morning…what I did instead (after selling my 125 for a staggering 420 pounds!) was to head over to see Peter – because saturday was an AFP meet in Cambridge. Now, I couldn’t be arsed to go if I had to drive all the way to Cambridge, but I could be arsed to drive to Aylesbury and then go the rest of the way with Peter to Cambridge…..so, that was the plan. Picking up Asalyn on the way…..

Unfortunately, well, we stayed up a bit late, which lead to me being absolutely shattered all the way through Saturday – which was a bit of a shame, also the meet was a bit chaotic – but despite it all I had a good time….however, I won’t be drinking in the first pub that we went to ever again, oh no. Well, not voluntarily. I don’t like paying a quid for 6 chips, and I don’t like rude, unhelpful staff. However, one of their people was extremely unhelpful, and rude, and at a staggering 17 pence per chip I think they win the “most expensive chips I’ve ever eaten” award.

They were quite good, but not 17 pence per chip good.

Next up, after the AFP meet (yes, there are photos, no I’ve not finished the film, so I’ve not developed it yet, so you’ll have to wait). Following that we headed back to Aylesbury where I flaked out rather quickly on the sofabed – suprisingly managing to wake up at about 8ish on Sunday. Then at about 9ish, and finally about 9:30, when I hauled my arse out of bed.

After which peter and I sat and chatted until lewie (the campest man in britain, apparently) arranged to meet up – and get Pizza! Whoo!

So we met Lewie (after I’d bought the Preaching to the Perverted CD) and then picked up Maria, went out for Pizza and a movie (or possibly a filum (practicing for going to ireland ;-))

Finally, heading back home….where I found out my dads been ill this weekend. Hopefully he’ll be okay.

They think it’s a clot….he’s going in for another scan. Anyway, I’ll be going home next weekend….

Now, what else is there…oh yes, my sketches.

It’s pronounced filim, not filum. :P

So, not only have they not submitted my application for the job, they’ve gone on to loose my application form. *sigh*

So, Last time I went on holiday was when I was at university. For four days, iirc. That was more than 3 years ago.

Before that, oooh, when I was 16?

So imagine how incredibly, phenominally, excited I am to be finally going on *holiday*. Actually, on holiday. Leaving the country, going and seeing other places. Well. A place. One special offer from RyanAir and me being very, very down and now I’m booked in to go to Ireland.

I’ve only wanted to go to Ireland my entire life. So….this should be good.

So, you have to wonder, if you point a http client at a streamed MPEG radio station what you’ll get….I mean, it says 51 Mb to download….will it stop after 51Mb?

So, I have to know, but not right now…..

This does have a point – I want to record some norwegian so I can actually sit and listen to it.

    We demand some answers!

Right, here’s the answers to the male/female thing in the photo I posted (as far as I know):

female, female, female, male, female, male, female, female, female

    male (kneeling down)

I’m afraid that means that nobody wins the pebble.

    Okay, this is unfair.

In the list of things which have broken we have:

    • Motorbike (carb’s packed up)
    • Car [Mog] (Gearbox is unhappy)
    • PC’s Motherboard (USB is broken, worrying about what else is broken)

This really sucks….and means again, I need more money.

Well, actually the bike is for sale, so I’ll put it back together and get rid of it, if I can get some interest in it….*sigh*

    So I got this spam….

“Subject: Change Your Sex Life Today!” – I don’t think they meant what I thought :-)

Anyway, what’ve I been up to this weekend? Weeeeell, I went home on friday, cruised home in the Mog, now with enhanced instrumentation (Revcounter, Voltmeter, unconnected water temperature gauge) – anyway, we made it home, although you can really really feel the need for a service.

And I spent the weekend lounging around doing very little – translated some Norwegian very slowly – I’m getting better, although I hate to think what my accent will be like, and at the moment trying to think of words just gets me stuck. But I can read some bits and go “ah, ah ha, that makes sense”. The fact that many words don’t seem to be in my dictionary (moren? what’s that mean then? ‘cos it’s used all over the place in this article and it ain’t in my dictionary).

So, yes, did that last night, and watched some of “Under Milk Wood”.

My dad, well, it’s hard to tell. He’s better than he was last week, but still not well at all. Very tired all the time, getting pains, and so on. I’m trying to convince myself that this is all down to chemotherapy – but it’s hard – no one seems to know exactly what to expect from Chemo, apart from “being generally ill, and getting worse” (“If the cancer doesn’t get you, the drugs will”).

    *Sigh*

So, anyway, he goes in for a scan the same day I go into the BRI for my endo appointment. Let’s hope this one’s less of a waste of time. [stress about my liver]. Oh, the other thing I did was excercises. While I was at home – my mum got me doing exercises – well, I’d been doing them this week, on and off, but I’ve now got a copy of the exercises so I can do them here.

And then today I went to Oxfraud again, this time, with Peter’s help found somewhere *free* to park (there’s all of about 6 spaces only about 10 minutes walk from the town centre! Yes! Really!). And they’re free on Sunday! Remarkable.

We wandered into town and took a peek at the Cinema – realised that we were on time for watching Goldmember – well, we’d missed most of the ads and trailers, but made it in in time for the film.

Comments? Well, I enjoyed it, I prefer it to Austin Powers II, but I didn’t like it as much as I liked the original Austin Powers film. Other comments are that (a) either people in oxford have very short legs or (b) Odeon Oxford don’t care about their customers – because they’re *sooooo* tight on space. Gah.

Also, Oxford seemed to be short on Coke/Pepsi today. One of the coke-pump things in the Cinema was out of order, and none of them were actually working. Which lead to some chaos as we stood there and went “oh ah, what are we going to drink” – having decided that probably none of the soda-pump things could be trusted.

Anyway, so, later peter got served this sort of brown-water which was meant to be Pepsi – but when compared to normal pepsi (what I got) was clearly an actual drink.

Apart from film and meal, we also did a bit of shopping….which was cool…

Got a couple of [hopefully] good books for a tenner, which should be fun…And then yes…wandered around looking lost. Anyway, was a good day. Then I headed back to brizzle, where I’m making plans to go to Ireland….
