Progress on the Bikes

So, I’ve been pretty busy today, I’ve completed the occy health forms and organised getting my vaccination results back from the occy health dept at UBHT. I’ve ironed my clothes (although I’ve noticed a stain on my posh shirt, so I need to clean it again tomorrow). I’ve (like I mentioned) been packing up books and uni stuff, and got pretty much all of them boxed up. But the main thing that’s got me feeling a bit better is progress on the bikes.

So, here’s some very unexciting photos…

First up is Cherry in her stripped down state. I’ve actually put the top end all back together – but the rest of it is still waiting for the clutch… Still, once the clutch is back on she just needs a full load of oil and she’ll be up and ready.

Then we have some shots of Charlie and Me (with new, shorter, hairstyle) sanding (Pirate) Charlie’s tank, and the frame of Pirate Charlie.

And finally, here’s the results of my high quality workmanship – a zinc primed tank and frame.

It must be said, I’d forgotten how mindblowingly awful my compressor was. It struggles with even the most basic job of spraying a dinky little panel. It can’t actually maintain pressure even before you start spraying. Which is a bit sad really. Pathetic is another word for it. I’m not *quite* sure how the frame will look, but I don’t think I’ll be using the compressor for any other jobs. I’d take it back, but I’m not convinced that a replacement would be any better – at least, not another one made by Blackspur.

Anyway, yeah, now we’re ready for the application of THE PINK!

Kate's a human mostly built out of spite and overcoming transphobia-racism-and-other-bullshit. Although increasingly right-wing bigots would say otherwise. So she's either a human or a lizard in disguise sent to destroy all of humanity. Either way, it's all good.
