  • Yay for Rainy Day

    I picked up a copy of That Ska Beat! from Rainy Day a while ago – then after we moved and I got the record deck out discovered it was just warped enough to upset the deck (records have to be ultra-flat for the linear tracker to be happy).

    I took it back…and they have a machine for de-warping records. Yay!

    And now I can listen to it and it’s t’awesome.

  • I got a ‘new’ screen and mouse for the media server to try and fix a problem more directly. Since then X has died, and my laptop spontaneously locked up completely while I was trying to find an answer to the X problem.

    I think it’s going about as well as normal.

    That I found a bat this morning.  A cute lil bat.  An adorable lil thing.  It was so cute. 

    But it was in my car.  There was a bat.  In my car.  Just chillin in the back seat.  Eating an Oreo that had probably been lost under my seat since the stone ages.  

    I noticed him just as I was buckling my seat belt.  He just sat there.  Munching.  Watching me watch it.  

    It’s 5am lil buddy I have to work.  Go home.  What are you doing eating sweets for breakfast?  That is not good for you, young man.  But get out of my car and take your horribly unhealthy breakfast with you. 

    I was late for work because I spent twenty fucking minutes trying to get a small baby bat out of my car without hurting it or it hurting itself. 

    Just. 

    There was a bat eating an Oreo in the back seat of my car this morning lookin at me like “Where we goin, Mom?” and I just don’t know how to go about my day now.

    New York Police Arrest Woman During News Interview for Speaking Out


    In a chilling display of police intimidation, Rochester police dressed in riot gear snatched a woman away as she was conducting an on-camera interview with a news reporter during a protest against police abuse in New York Saturday night.

    “I’m not going to hit anybody, I’m not going to shoot anybody. I’m going to speak to you, I’m going to use my words. I’m going to articulate myself because the message needs to be heard, the message is important. We don’t need this exact format, we need us to come out in numbers, we need more Rochesters.”
