    Seriously, I’ve only been able to skim this article so far, but I definitely plan on reading the whole thing later

    If you’re being abused by your partner, and you’re reading this right now, then you have awe-inspiring strength.

    You’re suffering, but you have the courage to seek out ideas on how to take care of yourself.

    I’m guessing you haven’t come across many tips like these. When I was being abused, the only advice I found was about how to leave an abusive partner, or how to heal after you’ve left.

    In this society we sometimes talk about abuse victims being strong after they leave, but frame them as weak before hand. I think that is so wrong. Living in an abusive relationship takes a strength that most people cannot even comprehend. you’re not weak because you stay. there are a million reasons why we stay because, frankly, abusers actively work to keep their victims trapped. 

    So know that if you’re in an abusive relationship right now as you read this, I think you are strong as fuck, and I am rooting hard as hell for you. 

    Honestly, if people feel even a little inclined to reblog this, I would appreciate it. I am not trying to guilt anyone, if you don’t reblog I won’t think you’re a horrible person, that’s totally your prerogative… But if these words can help even just one current victim of domestic violence… I would be so happy. 

    So many people can’t leave. So many. Please be safe.

    I’m trying to get some in pots at home and I need to fill in the raspberry area at  work. 

    OH, that’s awesome! Mine are in a ‘temporary’ bed (they’ve been in a temporary bed for five years…) and of course they’re outgrowing it. I’ll pot some up – just have to figure out a time to meet! (I was gonna say the market next weekend, but then I remembered I’m signed up for an all-weekend Sean Nos festival/workshop out at Evergreen. Oops. Can I have two weekends, please?)

    (Or, y’know, it’s beautiful this afternoon, if you could somehow wrangle time… *wants an excuse not to sit at computer doing freelanc stuff*)

    The market is open Thurs, Fri, Sat, and Sunday. I’m Free Thursday and Friday if that works. I can drive to you or meet you at the market. I’m not sure what would be easier for you. You’re a lot closer to my mom’s house than I thought so it wouldn’t be much of a drive from there. I’m weeding her yard this week.

    I work M-R, but if you could come over here Friday morning that’d be perfect! Like, any time before 12:30 or so? (I have an appointment). Being a non-car-owning person is a bit difficult when one’s trying to transport plants…

    * Bear in mind that the seats no longer really fold down in the Minor due to the addition of seat belts – and I think I got rid of my roof-rack when we moved over for space in container reasons.
