Yeah, yeah, same title as before, I know.

    (from rec.puzzles)

A couple of days ago I tried to weigh the Earth by turning my
bathroom scale upside-down, but given the size of the Earth it should
come as no surprise to all you savy folks that the scale was
immediately crushed flat. Now I am unable to remove it from my living
room floor, because there is no way I am going to be able to lift up
the entire planet to get the scale out from under it.

I got that from this page, thanks to Diane.

So, completely unrelated to the short intro type text….the holiday is off. Now, the awake of you will have realised that there must be a probably my-dad-related reason for that. And that’s the case. The doctors have said “don’t go”. *sigh*. I hope he’s not too depressed about it – I know that they booked this holiday after he was diagnosed and it was sort of a “something to look forward to” and I don’t know what effect not going is going to have on him. I know how much both my parents love Switzerland.

Anyway, I’m off to see them again at the weekend….

I *was* going to go on my motorbike, but it seems that, well, my wheels *still* haven’t arrived. However, for the inquisitive I’ve taken a photo of the chicken strip on my current indonesian IFA tyres….however, you’ll have to wait for that. Of course, using a digital camera reminds me of how convenient they are – and thus how much I want one of these – although I’d put up with one of these.

I’ve actually been off doing other thins and now I’m completely confused as to what the hell I was talking about. So I’ll stop now and have lunch. Yes.

BTW, bug in your weblog thingy: It doesn’t show the title of each entry on the index page. So when you said “Same title as before” it made no immediate sense.

So, I finally got around to putting my old motorbike up for sale (well, actually advertising it as opposed to just sticking a sign on it) – be sad to see it go.

In other news my body’s hatred of being kept inside has started to show – I’m feeling crap just ‘cos I’ve not been outside for a few days…..

So, I bought a photo album while I was at home with my parents

…vaguely thinking that in the 9 or 10 films I’ve finished off in the last few years there must be quite a few photos actually worthy of sticking in an album (hey, I used to have quite a high ratio of photo:decent_photo. Unfortunately, there’s just the two films I took in Brighton which really have any noticable quantity of decent photos (which I’ll add to the photography section of the site when I get time). It’s a bit, well, disappointing really.

So, I need to take some decent photos to cheer myself up. Only I’ve run out of film. And annoyingly the best photo on the last film was the one I lost when the film broke. *grr*. At least I didn’t loose all the photos I took, and some of the ones of John even came out, which, given that they were taken with a shutter speed that was, well, a trifle slow (I think I was up to 1/8th of a second) – well, I’m quite pleased that they came out.

And in other news, my knee seems to have finally given up the unequal struggle and is now hurting full time. It kind of went Click this morning and is kind of, well, painful. I’m actually beginning to contemplate the possibility of going to see the GP about it….it’s been going “crrrunch” quietly for a few years now, but this is, well, worse.

Aaand, what else. Yes. Another question for the universe, should I give in and get a livejournal? Of course, I’m not going to *pay* for said livejournal – but there’s a few people who’ve got private bits on their livejournals which I can’t see, because, obviously I’m not a livejournal member. That’s really the only reason I want one – which seems a bit bad really.

So. Hrm. Anyway, I’ve been through the Links page adding in various peoples livejournals (because lots of people seem to have livejournals that’ve replaced the diary section on their site)….

If I got a livejournal – would that happen to me? I mean I’ve made my own life far easier with this Greymatter stuff, which has, well, made it possible for me to just sit and type in entries without faffing around. But….Hrm. I dunno. Anyway, enough. It’s time for me to go and lounge in the bath :-)

Fixed a little bugglet in the links-bar. Now, even on wide pages it shouldn’t screw up….

I’m feeling very restless, you know that state where you know you want to do something, but you’re not sure what? Well, that’s my current state.

I actually really fancy going out for a ride, but the weather doesn’t look like it’s going to hold, and those tyres are *hideous* in the rain. Really, really horrible. They’re pretty bad when it’s dry to be quite honest.

I’ve just done my passport application – hopefully they’ll send me back a nice shiny passport with some god-awful pictures of me and the correct name/sex on it. I really should have done this ages ago, but I’ve been putting it off until I needed a new passport (which it turns out is fairly soon – ‘cos I’m hopefully off to switzerland for 2 weeks towards the end of August. Which should be funky.

Although with my dad being ill again, although not too badly (we hope) then the whole ‘going on holiday’ think is a bit up in the air. And 700 miles in a Morris Minor (well, 1400 there and back) is, well, quite a long way. On the other hand – I quite fancy the idea of writing it up as a magazine article and flogging it to one of the classic’s mags, or to a holiday mag…

Depends if my writing is up to it….

It’s also a chance to get out and about with a camera again – although there’s loads to do – check the RAC cover, check the Insurance, get travel insurance….

    Scary stuff.

Anyway, I’m off to say thanks to the morris minor centre….who came out and fixed my car….

Okay, so it’s finally happened – I’ve given in and got a live journal. Don’t think for a microsecond that I’m stopping using my normal diary entry stuff, indeed most of the time the livejournal’ll probably be a duplicate of the my own site – apart from the different comments…

    If there are any comments…

    Anyway. Enough for now…
