09/02/2002 Archived Entry: “Never sting a biochemist.”
Stinging a biochemist is a bad idea. We get really pissy about being stung. Start thinking about annihilating all examples of a particular species just because we *could*. Yes. Well, I do. Possibly it’s fortunate that I don’t actively practice biochemistry (heh, other people “aren’t practicing christians”, I’m not a practicing biochemist…. ;-)
Anyway, so as you might guess I got stung this weekend. Today actually, by a sodding wasp. At about 4 o’clock….and it’s still stinging and it’s slightly swollen. Not happy. Also worried because my mum is allergic to wasp stings (and there is the possibility that I’ll discover I’m allergic to them next time I’m stung, depending on what my immune system has done this time). Anyway, so, I got stung by this bastard little flying creature, which met an untimely end shortly afterwards. Little sod.
So. that was today. Actually, today was fishing out stuff to go to the tip, and computer stuff to give to our friend the computer collecting bloke….(John, if you’re reading, *wave*).
As was yesterday, (checks watch) actually, the day before (saturday). My parents are trying to work out what to do with regard to the fact that if my dad loses his job and they can’t get benefits then, well, the house will go). So a lot of clearing went on, and them trying to work out what they can get rid of, and what of mine will be going…..also a watching of Romeo and Juliet, which I’m not
Lots of thinking went on this weekend….not much decision making. Just that I need to sort myself out, and that i need to get a place of my own. Controllable environment. I need it – and soon. Still having a job should help, and am thinking I might well be able to get some benefits of some sort. Dunno what yet though. We’ll just have to wait and see.
I also need to properly sort through a lot of my books and sell off all my old model railway stuff…..it’s all gotta go, hopefully I can make some cash selling it.
