So, I spent yesterday with Lauren building an impressive shelf unit. It’s about 7 ft high, and ocupies one of the doojits next to the chimney in our back room. It’s meant that we can actually see the floor (previously the entire room was full – now with more stuff in it than before it’s less than full and there’s space to decorate.

Well, yes. Anyway, after basically an entire day of hard work we got the shelves up and then put the servers on them….wonderful! Anyway, that was why this machine was down yesterday, and this morning – as one of the harddisks which are temporarily residing in it was moved out…

So.

That was yesterday. Today we had a simple plan. It was a good plan. Not too much laid on. Just a bit. Put new points on the ‘new’ MZ. (Can I just say that I hate points? Yes? Oh good. I *hate* points. No, I *really* *really* hate points. F*cking awful things).

Anyway, so we do the points. Ish. And then we move on to setting the mixture – but the bike’s being an absolute arse to start. Slowly it becomes apparent that the downpipe which looked like it had a few little pin-prick holes in it (“nothing to worry about”) is actually holed – so okay. Need a new downpipe. But we can’t get one locally, and really I can’t afford one. So, okay. How to repair it (remember this, we’ve been here before) – anyway – there’s no where to get brazing rods around here. Well, it’s possibly but requires a great deal of work. So – chemical metal and jubilee clips were obtained (6 quid).

And applied.

And hopefully tomorrow we’ll actually be able to start the damn bike.

I am decided. My next bike will be: New, Modern, Reliable – i.e. not an ancient design that’s been recycled. Not because there’s anything inherantly wrong with the ETZ. It’s a nice reliable bike. I’m just sick of sheds – because they suck up money and I don’t really *have* any money anymore.

Anyway, so that sucked.

Then I moved on to trying to get the LogiCrap Shitecam to work. Ha. Fat chance. My USB system doesn’t seem to even see it anymore. Which might mean it’s dead – or that the cable’s loose on the motherboard, or that the USB drivers don’t work properly…Could be anything really.

Grr.

Oh well, anyway, we’ve got 260W (RMS) of music in here atm and it’s a “bit hard to concentrate”….so, I’m gonna bugger off…
