… and add a photo of the tree or seed you planted!
With the success of #10000trees2015 and the #Pawpaw Project, I’d like to see the 30,000+ followers of this blog plant 30,000 trees in 2016.
Make sure to find a place where you are allowed to plant trees, and where it won’t disturb local infrastructure; often national parks and nature preserves have tree-planting programs. Research which species are native or threatened in your biome, and do your part for their conservation.
A tree can absorb 27 kg of Carbon Dioxide a year; one large tree can provide a day’s worth of oxygen for four people. [x]
#30000 Trees 2016! Let’s do it!
Does it count if it’s a replacement for a native tree you have to take down? If so, YES. (Sitka willow. Awesome habitat tree. Regrowing a stake from the old tree is the only way I can bring myself to take the original down).
Assuming we do actually manage to buy some land, then yes. Although we may also be taking down a few trees too :-/
