2000 – 2002 Quit my job to move to Brizzy and get a job working for a friend who became my third girlfriend (the second being Donna, who I went out with for a very short period of time), Jasmine, and her, uh, partner, uh, Rachel. Yes, yes, I know. Slap me. Polyamoury is *not* really for me. Shush now. Jas got me into motorbikes, specifically MZ’s. Hated being a Technical Writer (which is what I ended up doing when the job with Jas fell through).
My dad was diagonsed with bowel cancer and multiple extensive secondaries, which they believed he’d had for 7 years. He was given 3 months to live. My mum lept in and decided on a diet which was totally different to the recommeded one (in that it has enough in it to survive more than 3 months). I started spending a lot more weekends at home.
In an attempt to save transport costs I bought an MZ ETZ 125, which turned out to be the biggest money sucking lemon in the world, finally got it sorted, passed my Bike test and promptly sold the bugger. Got my 251 on the road…sort of. Got it an MOT anyway, despite it being a shed. The golf got sick and my parents helped me get Rebecca roadworthy; fixed the golf and gave it to Rachel in lieu of rent….
Was, um, joined, by Lauren. Okay, okay, quiet down now. Set up a studio/duplication company which…. failed. Became a HCA to pay the bills. Jas and Lauren moved out together… I met this Irish girl called Aisling (she was visiting London), and went over to spend a week in Ireland. Had the best holiday of my entire life; drove all over ireland, visited anything that sounded cool, and after a few months she moved over to the UK to live with me.
2002 – 2003 Got my first house of semi-my-own. Me and Ais lived in a teeny village called Colerne, looking out over the fields (next to an army base!). Woke up and watched the horses. Was commuting around 80 miles a day, with Ais’s bike being repeatedly sickly. Rebecca, the mog, started to struggle with the mileage; mostly becuase I didn’t have the time or money to service her or get any problems fixed. Broke two springs on the hideously pot-holed road to our house. Started to fight a lot…. Studying at uni was getting to be a struggle too; with so little spare time.
The 251 finally gave up the ghost, after 117,000 miles with no engine rebuild the alternator/regulator was actually what died. Sounding increasingly like a bag of spanners being shaken violently in a grit factory I took it to London to get it rebuilt. On the way back, the engine siezed and I slid down the centre lane of the motorway in what must rate as one of the most mind-numbingly terrifying experiences. Only post experience though. The whole time I was concious and just making concious survival decisions. I still hate the driver who was too close and didn’t stop ‘cos he didn’t have time though. 2 seconds guys. 2 seconds.
2004 – Split up with Aisling and lost the house. Moved back to Bristol to live with Lauren (yes, same Lauren, but now a really good friend, not a partner!). Started going out with…. Kara. Exciting, funny and great fun in bed…. that didn’t last long! Then went out with Vic, who suffered from being post-Aisling, and just a bit too different from me. She’s really sweet and deserves someone nice; but it wasn’t to be. Basically studied and worked my arse off all year; made some videos with a friend which have proved to be suprisingly popular. Some really possibly big stuff started in 2004, which I’m not at liberty to talk about yet. It might not be, who can say. Went through a period of councelling which finally left me feeling much more like a real, normal person; and helped me deal with a lot of stuff about my dad (who is indeed, still around). Introduced to Trey by Chrissy and Nikki W on NYE. Everyone, absolutely *everyone* could see that Trey and I were interested in each other, but did they bloody tell either of us? No. They just found it funny.
2005 – Well, more uni, seeing Trey some, I hope, and um, the ETZ is back on the road again. Rebecca’s in need of some TLC. Yeah. We’ll see what this year brings.
